Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia: This September marks the 40th anniversary of the arrival of the first female troop at the RCMP Training Academy.

This September marks the 40th anniversary of the arrival of the first female troop at the RCMP Training Academy. These women graduated six months later and made history becoming the first female police officers in the RCMP. Today there are nearly 4000 female members of the RCMP.
To learn more about women in the Force or how you can become a member of the RCMP, make your way to Center Court at Halifax Stanfield International Airport and speak to Proactive Recruiter, Cst. Sandra Paris, who will be there on Thursday September 11, 2014 from 10:00am-3:00pm.
