Central/West London Borough Surgery

Tuesday 16 September

This exciting event will equip your organisation with knowledge on commissioning, give you the opportunity to network with other organisations in Central and West London and provide you with information on building partnerships and developing social enterprises.

This event is open for people working in the women's sector and with those affected by sexual and domestic violence with a focus on Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, and City of London.

Building relationships with funders and commissioners

Wednesday 17 September

In these increasingly challenging times developing good relationships with funders and commissioners can be crucial to women's organisations' success at securing funding. This course will look at practical ways to make contact with funders and commissioners, influence commissioners' priorities and strategies and present the case for your work effectively.

This course is funded and specific groups can attend for free.These courses are FREE If you are an organisation or project based in London working with those  affected by sexual and domestic violence.

Innovation for your organisation

Thursday 25 September

 
This training will help you to learn about innovation, encourage your organisation and staff to be innovative, how to progress your ideas and understand how to explain your innovative services to funders.

This is a special course. This means that the courses have not been funded and we are not able to offer free places. Please refer to the information below for details.

If your organisation IS a Member of WRC you will need to pay £25 for the full day, or £12.50 for half day
If your organisation IS NOT a member of WRC you will need to pay £50 for the full day, or £25 for half day

Making the Case: Equalities And Human Rights

Friday 26 September

This training will help you increase your knowledge of the pieces of current human rights and equalities documents that are referred to in the UK, raise your awareness of how they are relevant to your service users and give you the skills to use them to make the case for your organisation and the services you provide.

This training covers: The Equalities Act 2010, the Public Sector Equality Duty 2011, CEDAW and using Judicial Review.
This course is funded and specific groups can attend for free. This training is FREE and open to all Voluntary and Community organisations and Social Enterprises based in London.

Raising women's voices: Campaigns, Influencing and Social Media - ADVANCED

Thursday 2 October

This one-day ADVANCED Campaigns and Social Media training is tailored to organisations and projects with some knowledge of lobbying, campaigning and social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook and Youtube) who want to further develop their campaigning and social media skills.  The training will explore campaigning tools and techniques in more detail, lobbying local and central government, and in-depth training on how to use social media effectively to influence and gain support.

The training is divided into two sessions. The first one, Campaigning for Advanced level, starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm, and the second, Social Media for Advanced level, begins after lunch at 1.30 pm and finishes at 4.30 pm.
This training is FREE for WRC members and organisations or projects based in London working with those  affected by sexual and domestic violence.

Please note: This training session is Advanced, and therefore some knowledge of social media use as well as campaigning work is expected.

Challenging Inequality: The Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty

This free conference has been organised by the Women's Resource Centre as part of the ASCENT project to promote the knowledge of how to use the Equality Act and Public Sector Equality Duty as tools to challenge decisions that undermine equality amongst organisations working to support those affected by sexual and domestic violence.
The event will also include conferences, workshops and a speed networking session and aims to give attendees an increased knowledge of the Equality Act as well as enhance their ability to implement their own legal obligations under the Act.

Business Planning

This training will improve your knowledge of business planning and give you the tools and resources to create one for your organisation.  Participants will take away an understanding of the purpose of a business plan, practical tools and techniques for its development, an overview of its sections, and an action plan to complete the business plan for your organisation.
