Palestinian Mission UK: Families of the Nakba - 14 January 2015 - SOAS

Families of the Nakba Neil Kirtlan's photobook, Families of the Nakba, is being launched on Wednesday 14 January 2015 from 7.00 pm at the Brunei Gallery, SOAS. The book takes the form of a family album and is a deeply moving depiction of Palestinians living in Shatila and Bourj el Bourajneh refugee camps in Lebanon. In each family the oldest member can recall leaving Palestine in 1948 and they are photographed with their succeeding generations to highlight the fact that they remain refugees and have been denied the life chances we all take for granted. Prof Manuel Hassassian, Palestine's Ambassador to the UK, has written a foreword to the book and will be present at the launch. All profits from the sale of the book will go to the organisations that helped Neil with the project and each family will receive a copy. More info: http://familiesofthenakba.weebly.com/
