Annual Fundraiser: Women Who Inspire 2014

Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM

ANNUAL FUNDRAISER: Women Who Inspire will take place on Sunday, September 28 2014 at North York Novotel, 3 Park Home Avenue, Toronto.
The Women Who Inspire event raises funds to support promising Canadian Muslim women in their studies through the Lila Fahlman Scholarship, which is named after the late Dr. Lila Fahlam, a renowned educator and founder of Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW).
Come out to support and donate to the scholarship fund at the annual fundraising brunch. With scholarships and bursaries, many women can afford to complete their eduation, which can then provide them with a better future for themselves and their families.
This year CCMW has come together with the Canadian Association of Jews and Muslims (CAJM) to host the annual fundraiser.
CCMW and CAJM will also be honouring Canadian Muslim women from diverse backgrounds that have acheived excellence in sports, business, educaiton, arts, community service and leadership. Challenging the conventional stereotypes, these women proudly serve their communities and are a source of inspirtation for all Canadians.
This year our theme is Equality in Employment: Are We there Yet? We are proud to announce Judy Rebick who will speak on the 30th anniversary of employment equity, and the achievements of extraordinary women who strive for women's equality and have made a difference in other people's lives. A panel will follow with Karen Mock and Daood Hamdani that will speak to Muslim women's employment outcomes and lessons learned from 30 years of employment equity.
Last but not the least, CCMW and CAJM would like to present a young and talented Canadian poet and soon to be published author, Key Ballah!
Buy your early bird tickets fast at $75 per person or buy a table of 10 at $70 per person and bring your guests to the events to raise money for the Lila Fahlman Scholarship fund!
As a bonus, enjoy brunch with us and browse the many vendors at the event!
