The Media's Ability to Reinforce Politically Constructed Identities

And what is there to be made of the media that continues, collectively to "solidify" the broadly constructed identities of the Israeli/Jew and the Palestinian/Muslim?  Is it because it is the easiest/simplest option in a news cycle that is perpetual? Is it a reflection of what the media thinks of the consumers of their work?

And then what influence does the media's rigid constructs of othering in this matter have on the global and Israeli and Palestinian discourse (s)...on this matter?

Some Observations in Haifa :Trying to Understand How I am Read and What It Means

At the Breakfast table with two young Arab men who don't mind that I talked to myself whilst I have a think.
1) When the citizens acknowledge the tension and try to find away.
2) What happens when you acknowledge, but still choose to engage?
3) The hierarchy of othering.
4) Black and American and female and gray-haired and queer signaling by some and spinster by some in Haifa. How am I read?
5) In Israel and it is known I have met Fatah, Israeli intelligence and others in London, England. How am I read?
6) I don't know yet. Perhaps I never will.

Part of performance of identity for some…

Part of performance of identity for some…and we are all in performance of our constructed/perceived/believed/ identities, is the perpetual “playing” to international communities. And within the constructed dynamics of the CURRENT narratives that outward facing perpetual looking away and pitching to the world (the global communities) is a “necessity” to continue the standoff of not engaging with each other. Some #Israelis and Some #Palestinians.
