Monthly Summary – October 2016
Two Israelis were killed and 23 injured (10 of them security personnel) in October's terror attacks –
Two civilians were killed and 10 injured in a shooting attack in Jerusalem on 9 October; five security personnel were injured in shooting attacks in Qabatiya/Samaria (14 Oct.), Balata refugee camp near Nablus (19 Oct.), and Beit El near Ramallah (31 Oct.).

5 people were injured in car-ramming attacks: 2 civilians in Jerusalem (19 Oct.), and 3 security personnel in Beit Ummar/Hebron (30 Oct.).
Two security personnel were injured, one in a stabbing attack in Qatanna (Binyamin/Judea) on 15 October and the other in an IED attackon 10 October in al-Ram, north of Jerusalem. A civilian was slightly injured on 9 October as a result of a firebomb attack in Tekoa/Bethlehem.

Data regarding terror attacks in October 2016
Following is a regional distribution of attacks:  2 attack from the Gaza Strip, (5 in September); 103 attacks in the Judea and Samaria (78 in September); 48 attacks in Jerusalem (26 in September).

Jerusalem and the Judea and Samaria area: Most attacks executed inOctober 121 out of 151 were in the form of firebombs (September: 77 out of 104). 


Distribution of attacks according to regions and pattern profile:

Following is a distribution of attacks in October 2016 according to regions: 
The Gaza Strip – 2 attacks: 1 rocket and mortar launching; 1 A.A. shooting.

Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem – 151 attacks: 19 IED (including pipe bombs and improvised grenade) (1 in Jerusalem); 8 small arms shooting (1 in Jerusalem); 1 stabbing; 2 run-over (1 in Jerusalem); 121 firebombs (45 in Jerusalem).


High-trajectory launchings from Gaza Strip and Sinai


Throughout October 2016 one rocket and one mortar shell were launched** from the Gaza Strip towards Israel (within 1 attack), compared to one rocket in September.


**Clarification: The number of launchings is the number of rockets/mortar shells actually launched during one high-trajectory fire attack. For example: one attack may include a salvo of three launchings, that is, three rockets/ mortar shells, and so it will be counted as one attack and three launchings.
